Description:
Do you have experience in analyzing and reporting data on the usage and performance of a transit system? Are you interested in advancing the development of the Automatic Passenger Counter program (APC) for Edmonton Transit? Responsibilities include:
Analyzing transit ridership and bus travel time data to identify trends and paterns
Developing performance measures that will be used to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the transit system
Developing information reports that are used to support transit planning and scheduling functions
Establishing relationships with other APC users to share information on best practices and strategies
Researching new transit monitoring technologies and techniques,
Preparing RFPs (Request for Proposals) for the purchase or development of new transit monitoring technologies or software solutions
Qualifications:
University Graduation (preferably at the Masters level) in a relevant discipline such as Urban Geography, Economics, Planning, Statistics, Mathematics, Science or Business Administration
Minimum of four (4) years experience in travel monitoring, transit planning, data processing, economic/financial assessment and/or travel surveys
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to carry out research and audits
Ability to prepare statistical and analytical
Excellent analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members and other City departments
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of travel monitoring and surveying methodologies
Understanding of transit planning and operations
Extensive knowledge of research techniques
Valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle license or operators licensing equivalent recognized by the Operator Licensing and Vehicle Control Regulation, Alta. Reg. 320/2002
Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 030, $35.53- $44.89 (Hourly), $62,593.22 - $79,090.24 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

Description:
Do you have experience analyzing and reporting data on the usage and performance of a transportation system? Are you interested in advancing the development of new transportation monitoring technologies and techniques reporting to the General Supervisor Strategic Monitoring & Analysis?
Responsibilities include:
Analyzing transportation data such as speeds, volumes, vehicle classifications, occupancy rates, travel times and parking to identify trends and patterns
Developing performance measures that are used to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the transportation system and the Transportation Master Plan
Developing information reports that are used to support transportation planning functions
Establishing relationships with other municipalities to share information on best practices and strategies
Researching and developing new transportation monitoring technologies and techniques including evaluating cost effectiveness, recommending data collection and summary processes, developing training plans and presentations
Reviewing data on a regular basis with the intention of developing new improved data
Identifying clients' reporting requirements, documenting the requirements, explaining business practices, and gaining Information Technology acceptance
Preparing request for proposals for the purchase or development of new transportation monitoring technologies or software solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferably at the Master's level) in a relevant discipline such as Urban Geography, Economics, Planning, Statistics, Mathematics, Science or Business Administration
Minimum of 4 years experience in data analysis and developing reports including 6 months experience in at least one of these areas: travel monitoring, transportation planning, economic/financial assessment, and travel surveys
Knowledge of travel monitoring, surveying methodologies, research techniques, and transportation planning and operations
Proficiency with software including Microsoft office, spreadsheet creation and analysis, graphs and manipulation of data extracted from various sources
Excellent Research and analytical skills to analyze data, prepare reports, and conduct audits
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members and clients

Description:
This is for 1 Temporary, Full time position for approximately 18 months - In accordance with Article 18.02.

The Recreation Facility Services Branch of Community Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and sales focused individual.

Specific responsibilities include:
Responsible for the direct selling of Corporate Fitness Products and Advertising Media within the Recreation Facility Services Branch. Proactively prospect and sign new client accounts. Accountable for achieving and/or exceeding budgeted sales/revenue objectives. Prepare, plan, and deliver clear and persuasive sales presentations to both external organizations and internal committees.
Recruit, train and supervise Corporate Sales Staff.
Administer the City of Edmonton Corporate Wellness and Community League Wellness Programs including bulk admission sales.
Negotiate and prepare contractual agreements within parameters defined by Community Services. Manage the branch's advertising inventory including agreements with third party advertising agencies.
Provide a high level of customer support in an effort to retain existing customers and attract new ones. Liaise directly with corporate clients to ensure expectations are clearly defined and achieved.
Undertake regular qualitative and quantitative research to understand client needs.
Develop and build client relationship strategies including guiding and coaching clients and regular monitoring client satisfaction.
Manage advertising inventory, order signage, approve client signage, and coordinate installation of advertising. Determine resources needed and prepare operational budget estimates.
Direct liaison with third party suppliers and partners to negotiate revenue agreements. Liaise with asset management, finance, contracts and other internal departments as required.
Develop marketing and communication materials to promote the above programs.
Qualifications:
University graduation in Recreation Administration or a related degree
Three (3) years' experience in the field of community recreation with demonstrated experience in sales and marketing
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Training and experience in cash handling and microcomputer application is an asset.
Some experience in staff supervision would be an asset.
Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance.
A valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Drivers License is required.
NOTE: A security clearance is a condition of employment. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Security Clearance letter from the Edmonton Police Service or local RCMP detachment.
