Description The Assessment Review Board requires a highly organized and motivated person to provide administrative support for the Board. Duties will include:• Provide administrative support to Board Members in a quasi-judicial environment;• Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of Assessment Review Board policies and procedures and pertinent legislation affecting complaints and hearings;• Manage Board hearing arrangements by working closely with Board Members to ensure cases are heard according to the schedule and make changes where delays or backlogs are anticipated;• Review case files for completeness and accuracy after hearings;• Maintain records and ensure hearing rooms are ready and properly maintained;• Manage hearing materials by ensuring materials, legislation, forms and other resources needed by Board Members are available;• Greet parties and their representatives and determine the Boards readiness to proceed; • Provide administrative support for Assessment Review Board professional staff; • Participate in the daily operational activities of the Assessment Review Board including accurate data entry, filing of documents and general office duties.

Qualifications
• Completion of a grade twelve (12) including business subjects with emphasis on general office practices or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school or college. Post secondary courses in legal processes, law or related field would be an asset.• A minimum of 3 years diversified word processing experience including coordinating and scheduling of calendars and explaining City policies and processes to the public.• Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.• Must possess a basic understanding of quasi-judicial tribunals or court hearings and their processes.• Strong problem solving ability with an emphasis on accuracy.• Outstanding customer service skills including interpreting, researching, and communicating various policies and processes.• Ability to handle conflicting immediate priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

HOURS OF WORK: 33.75 hours per week, Monday — Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

SALARY RANGE: 21M, Salary Grade: 012, $19.969- $25.03 (Hourly), $1,347.91 - $1,690.13 (Bi-Weekly), $35,180.39- $44,112.46 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
