Description:
Do you have experience in analyzing and reporting data on the usage and performance of a transit system? Are you interested in advancing the development of the Automatic Passenger Counter program (APC) for Edmonton Transit? Responsibilities include:
Analyzing transit ridership and bus travel time data to identify trends and paterns
Developing performance measures that will be used to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the transit system
Developing information reports that are used to support transit planning and scheduling functions
Establishing relationships with other APC users to share information on best practices and strategies
Researching new transit monitoring technologies and techniques,
Preparing RFPs (Request for Proposals) for the purchase or development of new transit monitoring technologies or software solutions
Qualifications:
University Graduation (preferably at the Masters level) in a relevant discipline such as Urban Geography, Economics, Planning, Statistics, Mathematics, Science or Business Administration
Minimum of four (4) years experience in travel monitoring, transit planning, data processing, economic/financial assessment and/or travel surveys
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to carry out research and audits
Ability to prepare statistical and analytical
Excellent analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members and other City departments
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of travel monitoring and surveying methodologies
Understanding of transit planning and operations
Extensive knowledge of research techniques
Valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle license or operators licensing equivalent recognized by the Operator Licensing and Vehicle Control Regulation, Alta. Reg. 320/2002
Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 030, $35.53- $44.89 (Hourly), $62,593.22 - $79,090.24 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
